The red planet, the planned base for the future, the gleam in the eye of the scientists and space explorers. A dream for the future.
Minus 64 degrees is a tad cold in my mind. Global dust storms seem like they could be a real problem and of course, the water issue, IF it is there, it is underground and most likely frozen. Trying to establish anything there is going to be a real accomplishment. None of this is likely to happen in my lifetime but, likely to be a reality for my children, definitely for my grandchildren.
It is mind-boggling to me that we can plan and accomplish feats such as this and not be able to produce transportation that can be afforded AND isn't chained to a fuel pump.
We can conquer planets but, not hunger, homelessness, pollution... I don't know, I just can't help but think maybe our priorities are all wrong. What do you think?
