Here we are with most of the holiday season behind us. We aren't quite ready to ring in the New Year but we are right close to it. I hope your holidays were all you expected and the new year will bring you and yours the joy and good things you hope for.

Christmas Eve morning I placed a bid on Ebay for a table saw then went hunting with my son-in-law. The hunt was a new excursion for him and a welcome walk in the wilds for me. I had him walking point and coached him as best I knew how with the little bit I know. When we exited the swamp he had made two shots and had two squirrels, AND had learned how to clean them. It was a good time for both of us. The cleaning part wasn't fun but now he knows how. We took a leisurely drive through the swamp as I pointed out various spots that held promise then made the trek back to my house. I jumped on Ebay to check my winning bid only to find it was not to be. I had been outbid by seven bucks. Darn. The saw was an old Craftsman with the cast iron top and would have looked good in my shop. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be cheap, especially when you are bidding on Ebay. The spotting scope I had bought on Ebay had been delivered so I opened it up and checked it out. I am pleased with it and anticipate being even more pleased once I take it to the range and put it through its paces. I was more than a little surprised to find the antenna for my truck had also been delivered. Some of the sellers on Ebay are really on top of things and get items shipped QUICK. Yes, I do a good bit of stuff via Ebay and over the years I have found that the holidays become really great opportunities for BUYERS on Ebay since most folks are running around battling the stores. I managed to get some pretty good buys and missed a few more. Near misses can be frustrating but, they make the victories even sweeter. Plans for the coming year are large and grand, beginning with a remodel of my ever shrinking shop. A motorhome redo, some more hunting, and definitely some more fishing. Ah yes, I look forward to every new year and whatever near misses it holds. In closing, the best I can say is HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!
