Obama in the soup over Wright

Permalink 01:06:05 pm, Categories: News and Opinions

Rev. Wright has his point of view. He is ENTITLED to his point of view. No doubt like the rest of us, his point of view influences what he says and does. At the same time I am sure he has a strong influence on others who accept what he says as gospel. Yes, pun intended.

I would think all those years of being a member and hearing all those sermons, Obama would have realized before now that perhaps they weren't his cup of tea. Why wait until the skeleton is out of the closet to sever those ties?

Running for president didn't miraculously change his perspective, it just put him out in the open. Rev. Wright didn't miraculously change his point of view BECAUSE Obama was running for president, he just stumbled into the limelight. NO, I have not heard the sermons from the beginning, I only know what I read and what I hear. From this, I have indeed drawn a conclusion concerning Rev. Wright and Obama. The two of them should have gotten together YEARS ago to plan a strategy for this campaign rather than derail it in the middle. We can ALL say "Race is not an issue" and everytime we do, we lie. Race IS an issue and always will be. Human nature dictates that we all have some racist ideas and beliefs. Some of us are just more vocal than others. A political campaign does NOT need race as an issue as much as it needs integrity of the candidates. How have we managed to forget this? Oh, sorry, we ARE talking politicians aren't we?
