OK, so I am a meat and potatoes kind of guy. I like my steak medium rare, my chops thick and juicy, and chicken pretty much any way you fix it! A frugal aspect of living could be reducing your meat intake. Eating meat is costly and even if you manage just one meatless meal a week, you will see it in your budget.

Yesterday I had my first ever meatless pizza. Sun dried tomatoes, portablella mushrooms, left over from my smarter half. See, she really is my smarter half and she KNEW if she brought this home, my love for pizza would overcome my veggie bias and I WOULD try it. It was fabulous! To be fair, whatever cheese had been used on it is what really set it off but I had absolutely no problem scarfing down the 5 slices she had brought home! There goes my diet...again. I honestly enjoyed this pizza and it served as a real eye-opener for me. The only other meatless meal I have eaten is Ziti, no meat just lots of cheese. I really enjoy this and it is a quick and easy meal. I never really thought about it being a meatless meal, I just knew I liked it. Now that my eyes are open, I find I am a lot more receptive to meals without meat, as long as they resemble something I already like. I'm not big on experimenting with strange, unrecognizable meals. The thought of a slab of tofu does nothing for me. I doubt you will ever see me sipping on a green milkshake. I don't even want to THINK about what might be in that. I will however, go for meatless once in a while, especially with the price of cow! Go ahead, try it, you might like it!
