The price of gas is bad enough then we have to compound it by ALLOWING the price gouging that is going on. A predicted ten to twenty cent increase at the pump based on hurricane damage became twice that and more, WITHOUT significant hurricane influence. I like to make a profit as good as anybody but I don't gouge my way into a killing!

Gas stations and convenience stores don't make as much on gas as everybody believes but then again, some of them obviously ARE making that much. The odd part is those who didn't change their signs when the price went up had tons of traffic pulling in. The gotcha was they were out of everything but premium. Yes, it was humorous to see how many folks pulled away, myself included. Instead of displaying a "No Gas" sign they used the false pricing to lure folks in. Most of these folks pulled right back out and I imagine more than a few won't be back, ever. Gas prices are bad enough, don't get cutesy with them. We are indeed over the proverbial barrel...pun intended, and have no where to turn. We did this to ourselves and now we have to pay, and pay, and pay. I am of the firm belief that price gougers should hang from the nearest tree. There is no excuse for this.
