Hunting season for us is about to start and has already started for a lot of folks elsewhere. Not only am I having thoughts of hogs and deer, I am thinking of how good they taste smoked! It is cool enough outside to enjoy watching the smoker cook and not get too hot in the process. Yes, I use propane, I am not a purist. The convenience of propane makes it my mode of choice for smoking meat. As for the woods I use, I prefer Cherry for smaller things and Oak or Hickory for bigger cuts. When given the opportunity, I also enjoy smoking fish. If you haven't tried it, don't knock it.

Once we get through today, we will know who we picked to run our country, good or bad, and we will get back to whatever our version of normal is. A lot less junk mail in the mailbox, news shows that don't mention candidates and polls. We get to sit back, cross our fingers and hope whoever won can fix the mess we are in.
