Every woodworker needs a fireplace!

About BigDog
A moment to clear the air is in order and I will do so here. I am NOT employed in any of the construction trades. My vocation for many, many years was Quality Assurance in either aerospace or automotive machine shops. Indicators, surface plates, CMM's, and blueprints were my stock and trade.
For the last several years I have been the primary care giver for my son who was badly burned in a car wreck. He has reached the point of self sufficency and my care is no longer needed. If you are real good at reading between the lines, I am unemployed. I do however, pick up an occasional odd job of one kind or another and only rarely will I refuse one. Most of the work I get is building one thing or another out of wood. I have many interests but, wood has always been my calling.
ALL of the various things I do have been learned from books and hands on. I am self taught. My woodworking has gone from rickety particle board bookshelves that sagged in the middle, to a complete kitchen redo, from logs to finished cabinets. It has been a rocky road with lots of mistakes in between that has brought me to the point where I can say with a great deal of confidence, "I can build almost anything in wood."
I have made money with my woodwork. I have lost money with my woodwork. Being PROFITABLE with woodwork is an elusive target that requires considerable effort. YES, there is money to be made doing woodwork and a reasonably good woodworker can make some of it. Chances are it won't be glamorous work that is your mainstay. My bread and butter work is things like shed doors, hanging doors, trimming out rooms, lawn furniture, patio furniture, and a lot of things of a more rustic nature. Sprinkled in with the rustic work is pieces of furniture that are different and perhaps even unique.
The logic behind BigDog's School of Wood was two fold; I am confident that I can help other woodworkers if by no other way than helping them avoid the mistakes I have made and to offer ONE PLACE that will take you from the very basic of basics to high end.
The school will not be free. I need to make a few bucks too. The cost will be small and I believe it will be worth far more in knowledge and projects than what it cost.
I have no axe to grind and I try not to blow my own horn much, I call things as I see them and tell it the way it is from my perspective. If you are curious about the school, drop me an email and ask questions. Shoot, if you are curious about anything, drop me an email and I'll try to answer it. Also there is a question and answer section in the forum.
Enrolling in the school will get you some goodies not available elsewhere like our newsletter, a chance to sell some of your stuff, and of course, almost unlimited BigDog.
This little blurb has been up for quite a while now and there has been no inquiries what-so-ever. I will assume there is no interest in this and I will move on. Should there be renewed interest at some point I may follow through with the school. For now, the school is shelved due to lack of interest.
