IF you have a lathe you can ALWAYS keep yourself busy. Wood for turning can be as close as your yard or your neighbor's yard. Some of the wood you can find is surprising when you begin to turn it. It doesn't have to be big stuff either!

3 turned candle holders

Folks are big on candles of all sizes so, here is 3 candle holders, 3 different sizes.

Big candle holder

The big candle holder has some pretty wild grain going on.

Medium candle holder

This is the medium candle holder and you can see it has a bark inclusion through it.

Medium candle holder again

Here is the medium candle holder again showing extensive bark inclusion, wild grain, will hold a 2.25 diameter candle and it sits just shy of 3 inches tall.

Small candle holder

This is the small candle holder, it will hold a 1.75 diameter candle and is just shy of 3 inches tall. The big candle holder will hold a 3.75 diameter candle and is 4 inches tall. A lathe, even a small one can produce these candle holders with no problems. The wood can be found laying on the ground, the wood provides the beauty, YOU provide the vision. Many of bigdogs turnings are availablr now on Purple Frog Industries

I just checked out Purple Frog Industries. I had no idea you had stuff for sale online. VERY COOL. I want one of those keychains with the hidden compartment. Hook me up! :-)
