Here comes Herby Homeowner….right to the pile of “rejects” from the other guy and loads up his cart. He might set one board aside that is cracked almost the whole length but he will take all the others. Chances are good that if you stand there long enough, somebody will come along and buy the cracked board too.

The trip to the lumber store should have taught you one thing and one thing only, the lumber you buy is what looks good to you. Well, now what? I guess we need to learn how to better select our lumber.
