Sharp tools are a must. Oven cleaner can be used to remove pitch and gunk from your sawblades. Yes, it is nasty but it works!

TIPS HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE FORUM
Build yourself a rolling tool cart for use in your shop. Try to plan it for your most used tools, after you add wheels it can be rolled to where you are working. This can be a real timesaver, keeping all your tools where YOU are.
