There was a time when nearly any place you went, a bootjack could be found somewhere. All shapes and sizes, the basics are the same, a cutout to hook the heel of your boot so you can take them off easier. I suspect a quick search will net you a plan for a bootjack or some of your books are sure to have one, if you have woodworking project books. Bootjacks are a simple and useful item, quickly whipped up in the shop. The reason I am mentioning bootjacks is I now have that as a priority for myself to help remove my snakeproof boots. The pyscological boost of having on boots that snakes can't bite through is profound when you are walking through a swamp, palmetto farm, timbered, overgrown areas. Now, I don't spend as much time looking for snakes and more time looking for hogs. The boots have improved my enjoyment even if it is only mentally. Physically, they are difficult to put on and harder to get off. Hence the need for a bootjack. I've got some scrap pine that I think will do just fine to make it out of. I guess I should go make some chips...
