I've had a few inquiries about the kind of chainsaws I use. I am a Husqvarna fan and have used more of these than any other. However, I have a small Stihl limbing saw that flat out makes chips. I've noticed the last few times I had sawing to do, this was the saw I got out. Part of the choice is the fact that the saw is small and light compared to my husky's. It starts easy, cuts like mad, and doesn't wear me out when i've only got some light saw work to do. For around the house, casual limbing and maybe cutting down some smaller trees it will definitely do the job. I finally accepted the fact that my big saw was doing more sitting in the shed than being used so I sold it and haven't missed it one bit. A thirty six inch bar with a saw to pull it means you are right serious about cutting some wood and I'm just not that serious any more. Of course some of that not serious is I might not be as young as I used to be and I really don't want to work that hard anyway. For small logs, small trees, and anything I am likely to tackle at this point I've got a twenty four inch bar Husky and a sixteen inch bar Stihl. Between the two, they will do more work than I am likely to want to get into. So, if you need a good chainsaw, Husqvarna or Stihl is what I would suggest. Have fun, be safe.
