If your shop is like mine, the big stuff isn't really a problem, it's all the little stuff. A simple wood rack holds my wood chisels securely on the wall. The individual slots were cut making multiple passes on the table saw and a scrap of luan was tacked on to cover the slots. Simple, down and dirty, made of scraps, and functional. My bar clamps hang from a one leg of a ladder rack. It isn't pretty but I have used this setup for years. Care must be taken when hanging or removing the clamps but for me, it works just fine. I still have no good way to hold pipe clamps, the durn things are just awkward, especially the big ones. I stack them in corners most of the time. I tried hanging them off nails and just wasn't sold on the idea. One of these jokers popping off a nail and hitting me in the head was the main reason. Sandpaper storage is a metal, drawered cabinet, found at the flea-market. It works great. General supplies are confined to pegboard when they can be hung. Paint brushes, extra screwdriver bits, roto-zip bits, all this kind of stuff finds a place on pegboard. Stackable plastic bins rest on a shelf and hold my assortment of screws, again, not the best solution but one that works for me. Organize your little stuff and it is amazing how your shop will look so much better. It looks almost like you know what you are doing or at the very least, can find anything you are looking for! Good luck!!
