Whoever said a bad day of woodworking beats the best day at work...never had one of these days. My router table was all set up ready to work. I flipped the switch, it started running then it died. I checked the power, checked the cord, flipped the switch a few times and finally realized my router was dead. This pains me as it was dedicated to my router table and now I would have to use one of my other routers for the table. The bright spot was I at least had another router. I mounted the replacement router and threw away the old one. I started to put my bit in the replacement router and dropped it. I work over concrete floors and the carbide flutes on this two flute bit did a little side to side dance on the concrete breaking off carbide. Oh darn. This BRAND NEW, right out of the box, router bit, went to the trash. The damage to the carbide flutes was massive. Oh darn. I managed to find another bit that would work and very carefully put it into the replacement router. My first pass went well so I ran the few boards I was working on. All is good. I layed out for biscuits and got the biscuit joiner out and began cutting my slots.
I had it set for size 20 biscuits. I got all my slots cut in record time. Things were looking much better. I had 36 biscuit slots and 11 size 20 biscuits. I had a brand new package of size 10 biscuits. OK, I set aside this particular project and decided I would do a little work on the shop proper. I reached into my screw bin to grab a few screws and drove the point of one under my thumb nail. I removed the screw. I closed up my shop. I am now on the computer hoping that this will improve my day. It has been one of THOSE days!
