IF you should ask me if I have my knife on me, my normal response would be, "Have I got my pants on?" I don't travel without my knife and haven't done so for more years than I care to remember. My knife gets used and abused, occasionally sharpened then abused some more. I normally replace my knife every couple of years because I am HARD on them and use them in ways they were never designed to do. My knife, whichever flavor I am carrying is as important to me as my clothes. Yes, if I don't have my knife, I feel naked.

I like always having a tool or two at hand whenever I am doing something and yes, I tried one of those do everything knives with a gazillion blades that weighs 9 lbs. Sorry, this was not for me. I tried a multi-tool, no name brand and promptly twisted it beyond recoginition. That cured me on those for years. I kept my eyes open, I watched what other people used and gradually formulated an opinion. THE name brand was a bit too rich for my blood so, I did without. I still wanted one but not at that price. GERBER to the rescue!

My best knives tend to be Gerber. I have carried them for years and have always been pleased with how well they took my abuse. The Gerber Suspension Multi-tool looks like a winner to me. The spring loaded needle nose pliers will do well for twisting wires, retrieving fishhooks, and reaching things my fat fingers can't. All the other assorted goodies are like icing on a cake, they just make it even better. Scissors, screwdrivers, knife-blades, saw blades, a tool kit on my belt. It can't get any better than this unless maybe they can figure out how to include a bass-boat with it for the same money!

I figure this is one tool that everybody needs at least one of. Not only can it be worn on your belt in the nifty velcro pouch but it can be tucked into purses, tool boxes, tackle boxes, glove boxes, boat boxes, camper boxes, and any place else you can think of where you might need a few tools.

Nope, I don't work for Gerber and have no affiliation with them. So far, I just like their products. If you don't have one, you ought to get one!
