Sustainable woodworking, "Green" woodworking, only using wood from renewable sources, how ever you wish to describe it, don't buy wood from endangered species/areas/countries. Yah, OK, no problem. As long as there is money to be made, the wrong wood will be sold. It is a simple case of supply and demand, just like anything else. We WILLINGLY spend our hard earned bucks to buy wood we wish to build with. Some of us actually do question the source, most don't.
I can't claim to be a tree hugger of any variety, I CAN claim to hate seeing good lumber go to waste. Next time a good storm hits in your area, look for the blow downs and think lumber in the rough! Some creative sawing with a chainsaw can net you some fine lumber at a cost of fuel and physical exercise. MOST of the time, it IS worth it. Don't let storm downed trees go to waste, make lumber!!!
